His will is dated August 24, 1737, and was probated at a court held in
Anne Arundel County on June 13, 1738, by John Jacob.
To daughters Elizabeth Joyce, Ruth Cheney, Elinor Inloe, Sarah Hatton,
and Rachell Cheney, 1 shilling each.
I give and bequeath unto my loving son Thomas Cheney the plantation I now
dwell on with the land thereunto belonging containing 50 acres it being
part of Cheney's Resolution so him and his heirs forever and in case of
my said son Thomas Cheney should die without heirs that then it is my
will that the aforesaid plantation with the land thereunto belonging
shall descend unto my loving son Richard and his heirs forever.
I give and bequeath unto my loving son Luis Cheney my other plantation
with the land thereunto belonging, it being also a part of Cheney's
Resolution to him and his heirs forever, and if it so happens that my
said son Lewis Cheney should die without issue that then my will is that
the aforesaid plantation descend and by my loving daughter Susannah
Cheney's and her heirs forever. And its further my will and desire that
if my aforesaid sons, Thomas, Lewis, and Richard should all of them died
without issue or before they are of age that then the lands bequeathed to
them aforesaid shall descend and be my aforesaid daughter Susannah's and
her heirs forever.
