Vernon was only about five or six months old when his mother died. Albert
was unable to take care of a child so young, so Vernon was given to the
doctor who had delivered him, a Dr. Hesser. Vernon was raised as Vernon
Hesser and became a doctor himself.
According to the Social Security death index, Vernon Hesser is dead (
don't know the year).
