Abstract:
The Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) is a contest where teams of
three undergraduates use mathematical modeling to present their solutions
to real world problems. The competition (which took place last weekend)
challenged teams of students to clarify, analyze, and propose solutions
to an open-ended problem regarding museum security.
The participants will briefly describe their experience with the
competition and we will
announce the winners and the teams representing the University of
Virginia at the International Mathematical Contest in Modeling which
takes place in February 2008.
