Arthur Benjamin grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1983 he earned his BS at Carnegie Mellon, his PhD at Johns Hopkins in 1989, and has since been a Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College. He has authored several books, has been featured in over a half dozen magazines and newspapers, and has performed for audiences all over the world.

In his entertaining and fast-paced performance, Dr. Benjamin shows how to:

      - mentally add and multiply faster than a calculator,

      - improve your memory for numbers,

      - figure the day of the week for any day in history,    and more!


This talk is intended for a general audience.

Admission is free.

Those attending the talk can park near the UVa football stadium and walk through the
Engineering School to get to the Physics building, which is on McCormick Road.
